Allsop Makes a Record 46 Promotions including one of the youngest ever equity partners

We are delighted to announce 46 promotions ahead of the start of our financial year.  This is a record number for the partnership in our 116 year history and includes the promotion of Dale Johnstone to equity partner, making him one of the youngest ever equity partners at 35 years of age.

Johnstone, who specialises in the acquisition and sale of investment properties predominantly in business space, joined Allsop as a graduate in 2008. With deals worth over £500 million completed in the past two years, most recently Dale has advised on the acquisition of a portfolio of Greene King properties on behalf of Aprirose for £130 million, 300 Capability Green for Citi Private Bank for £62 million, and Project Royal for £100 million.

His client list includes LaSalle Investment Management, Aprirose, Telereal Trillium, British Land and Aegon, amongst other market leading investors.

Dale is one of 46 promotions across the business, including six who become salaried partners, 33 senior associates and associates, and six to senior surveyor. Partner promotions include Susannah Summers, a specialist in retail valuation; Harry Theakston, West End office leasing expert; and James Salmon, an industrial investment advisor. Will Taylor and Will Clough are part of Allsop’s residential and commercial auctions teams respectively and Anthony Dixon is in the residential development team.

Scott Tyler, Senior Partner at Allsop, said: “The volume of promotions this year reflects the exceptional calibre of the individuals who we are fortunate enough to have across our business streams. Each one has made an invaluable contribution to our people-led partnership, and these promotions will in turn enable Allsop to gain an ever stronger foothold in certain growth sectors of the market in 2022 and beyond, from the rebound of retail to the rise of life sciences and logistics. Dale and all those promoted will ensure we continue to grow at pace and provide first-class service to our clients.”

Dale Johnstone, Partner at Allsop, said: “Having joined Allsop as a graduate on the day Lehman Brothers collapsed, I was lucky enough to have joined an extremely nimble and entrepreneurially spirited company. Allsop is an exceptional place to foster talent and pivot to growing markets such as life sciences and build to rent. I am very much looking forward to joining the partnership and helping to grow and drive the business forward over the coming years.”
