The Freehold of Crystal Palace Football Club’s training ground is set to go under the hammer on July 9th at Allsop’s commercial auction at the Park Lane Hotel, London.

The newly promoted Premier League club’s training ground, with a guide price of £2m+  is one of 139 lots to be auctioned at the sale. The team were recently promoted to the Premiership following their play-off victory in May 2013.

The 5 hectare (12.3 acre) ground in Copers Cope Road, Beckenham, Kent is leased to Crystal Palace FC until 2018 at a current rent of £200,310 per annum. The lot also includes a sports pavilion, clubhouse, gym, workshop, detached garage and an administration purposes building.

The July Allsop Commercial catalogue includes 20 lots with a guide price of £1m+ and a total income in excess of £6m a year. There are seven bank investments and 11 office investments. Some 62 lots are located within London and the South East, while 33 lots will be offered on behalf of receivers.

Widely accepted as the barometer of the commercial property market, this auction is anticipated to be keenly followed.

Duncan Moir, Auctioneer and Partner for Allsop comments;

“Well-let stock at realistic prices in strong locations continues to be very popular, but, as ever, the real test of investor confidence in the property sector will be seen on the day. The sports ground is particularly interesting, given the tenant’s recent success. I expect to see competitive bidding in the room.”
