Andrew Hoban Partner in our Commercial Valuation Team chats to Greg Manson, Director of Debt Finance at OakNorth, about the financing process including what steps a borrower needs to go through, how the lending process is structured, how pricing and leverage might differ depending on asset class, due diligence, ICR (Interest Cover Ratio) and risk factors to be considered that might affect the loan.

Andrew Hoban is a Partner in the Commercial Valuation team and specialises in undertaking valuations for loan security, purchase and accounts purposes for a wide range of banks, property companies, developers, funds and high net worth individuals.

Alongside his role in the valuation team, Andrew is a qualified RICS APC Assessor and provides training to the graduates at Allsop.

Greg Manson is a Director of Debt Finance specialising in real estate at OakNorth, as well as a Chartered Surveyor. After University, he started his career as a Finance and Operations Director for a Regional Charity. In 2012, he successfully secured a graduate position at The Royal Bank of Scotland, before moving into Corporate Banking and he worked his way up the organisation before leaving to join Coutts in 2016 in their Commercial Real Estate team. After almost three and a half years at Coutts, he joined OakNorth as an Associate Director in September 2019. Within a few years, was promoted to Director where his role is to deliver innovative real estate finance solutions for entrepreneurs looking to develop and invest in UK property.

He has personally led on several hundreds of millions of pounds worth of transactions with OakNorth since joining. He also won the “One to Watch” Award at the 2023 Young Norwood Property Awards in recognition of his career achievements to date.
