Allsop Mourns the Loss of Partner and Auctioneer Will Clough
We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Will Clough, one of our long-standing team members of 16 years, earlier this month.
Will joined Allsop as a graduate in 2010 and became a Partner in 2022, as well as the lead auctioneer in Allsop’s Commercial Auction business. He was not only one of the UK’s finest auctioneers but also a brilliant leader within the business, an enormously valued colleague, and a very dear friend to many in the firm and in the UK’s property industry.
Statement from Andrew Boyd, Senior Partner at Allsop:
“From his early days at Allsop, it was clear Will had the character and skills to become an exceptional auctioneer. He possessed a natural ability to work a room with the utmost professionalism and charisma. Whether addressing seasoned investors or first-time buyers, he struck the perfect balance between confidence and approachability, putting everyone at ease whilst maintaining complete control of the auction room. In addition to utilising his auctioneering skills in the world of property, true to character, Will and his gavel were always there to support numerous charitable events and causes throughout the years.
Much loved doesn’t begin to describe Will within Allsop. He was an incredible leader of our firm, both in his capacity as an auctioneer, but also in his wider influence in shaping our future and the next generation. He epitomised everything you would want in a Partner and, with his character and leadership, he was destined to play a major role in our business. As well as being a leading light in the firm and auction world, he was an exceptional friend to so many current and former colleagues.
The outpouring of support from across the market has demonstrated how highly Will was regarded, and we would like to thank everyone for their kind messages in recent days. We are all devastated by this news and, along with Will’s family, will be arranging to celebrate his life and create a lasting legacy. We are committed to honouring his memory in a way that reflects the energy, warmth and kindness he brought to so many.”
