MAT’S ROLE

Mat’s role is to lead Allsop L&M’s health, safety and compliance function. He does this by defining the health and safety strategy for Allsop and by coaching our teams throughout all levels of our business.

Mat also heads up building statutory inspection and testing ensuring high levels of compliance are maintained for all property we own or manage for clients. 

In short, Mat defines policy, strategy, procedures and plans for the business regarding the main key risk areas including fire, water, asbestos, M&E and lifting & lowering.

• Leading health and safety business functions and teams.
• Defining health and safety strategies for business’s ensuring a creative modern approach.
• Creating health and safety management systems, defining policy, strategy, procedures and plans for businesses.
• Influencing positive safety cultures with senior business partners and shareholders.
• Extensive experience in the overarching 6 key risk areas of building safety management, with particular interest and expertise in asbestos management.
• Achieving ISO accreditations for businesses, 45001, 14001, 9001.
• Coaching and mentoring of aspiring leaders.

EXPERIENCE

• Over 10 years of experience in safety leadership roles. From Regional Safety Business Partner appointments to heading up safety teams in medium to large business’s.
• Experience predominately in facilities management, asbestos, Hard and Soft FM and PBSA, working for the 3 largest UK providers, Unite Students (FTSE), Student Roost (formally owned by Brookfield Multiplex) and UPP.
• Experience in Managing Operations: Mat was Head of Aviation Services alongside safety in a previous role.
• Experience in supporting PQQ’s and tender presentations for multi million pound contracts.
