Bloomsbury Publishing Plc’s New Headquarters

Bloomsbury Publishing plc, publishers of Harry Potter, advised by Allsop have completed on the acquisition of 49-51 Bedford Square. The leading publisher has acquired the Georgian Grade 1 listed address as its head office to replace its current 3 buildings in Soho Square.

Bloomsbury have taken a 20 year lease from the 10th January 2011 with a break option in the tenth year. Total floor area is circa 23,500 sq ft with rent payable of £630,000 per annum equating to £26.80 per sq ft overall with two years rent free.

Nigel Newton, Founder and Chief Executive of Bloomsbury Publishing plc said,

“Coinciding with our 25th birthday, Bloomsbury Publishing is going home to Bloomsbury to new offices in Bedford Square with its rich publishing and literary history."

We shall be moving in July 2011 to three interlinked Georgian houses at 49-51 Bedford Square, which will mean everyone in the London-based offices will be together on one site in buildings which reflect the Bloomsbury brand”.
