Born and bred at Allsop, James joined the graduate rotation scheme in October 1999 from Reading University following completion of the Masters course. His first role was in Commercial Auctions, then rent reviews and has been in City Investment and Development ever since.

Major deals include, most recently being involved in the £101 million purchase of 99 City Road, EC1 on behalf of London and Regional. He has also purchased on behalf of Standard Life Investments; Empire House, City Road for £20.65 million and sold 111 Cannon Street to London and Oriental for £7.5 million.

Other notable deals with which he has been associated over the years are the purchase and sale of Woodbridge House on behalf of Henderson Global Investors, the purchase of 140 Aldersgate Street for Land Securities, 100 Leman Street for Standard Life Investments and the structuring of a JV on Dept W, Whitechapel, E1 on behalf of Resolution and Schroders.
