Allsop launches December residential auction catalogue, bringing 269 lots to the market

  • Catalogue for 17th December auction is 15% bigger than this time last year, despite latest Covid restrictions
  • 11 lots have guide prices of £1m or above, with the highest lot valued at £2.5m+

Allsop has released its December residential auction catalogue, offering 269 lots with 11 guided above £1m. The catalogue shows an increase year on year, with the same auction in 2019 offering 40 fewer lots, despite a flurry of activity following the general election results and the subsequent ‘Boris bounce’. The catalogue includes 70 lots on behalf of housing associations which are likely to appeal to developers and end users alike. Furthermore, there are 30 garage sites being offered some of which may afford potential for development, subject to consents.

The highest value lot for the residential catalogue is lot 105, a freehold detached building, arranged to provide 20 self-contained flats. Located in Chinnor, Oxfordshire, thirteen flats are subject to assured shorthold tenancies with the remaining seven subject to 125-year leases. This lot of guided at £2.5m+.

Richard Adamson, partner and residential auctioneer at Allsop, said: “Our December catalogue comes out at a time when the market has reason to be more positive with the news of a vaccine in the spring, together with the stamp duty holiday running until the end of March making property a very attractive proposition compared to other sectors. With this in mind we anticipate a strong appetite to an excellent catalogue and a busy couple of weeks ahead."

Highlights from the residential catalogue include:

    • Lot 19, Chelsea, London – a Grade II listed three-bedroom leasehold garden flat located at The Boltons. Guide £850,000+
  • Lot 40, Newquay, Cornwall – a detached freehold three-bedroom bungalow with sea views, located 100 yards from Porth Beach. Guide £425,000
  • Lot 95, Cranleigh, Surrey – a freehold three-bedroom bungalow with planning permission for two five-bedroom semi-detached houses. Guide £700,000+

The next online-only residential auction is on 17th December. View the catalogue here.
