Team Allsop joined over 300 participants at The Oval Cricket Ground in London for the final LandAid SleepOut in the series.  Enduring what felt like -5 degrees, but which was actually a balmy -1, I was overly prepared with multiple layers, handwarmers and a tog-4 sleeping bag.   I managed an hour’s sleep at most but was humbled to think how lucky we all were to be able to prepare;  how lucky to get any sleep at all;   and how safe we felt as part of an organised event.

As the temperature dropped we heard heartwarming and encouraging stories of how funds raised from nights like these have helped those who find themslves without the basic human right of somewhere safe to stay.    As the magnficent, and welcome,  sun rose over The Oval the next morning we all agreed that if this one night can help turn a young person’s  life around forever then our night in a very cold cricket ground was definitely worth every shiver.

Huge thanks to everyone who sponsored the team sleep out.

Over a series of three sleep outs, 525 people from 162 companies have now raised over £310,000.
