We have launched our first ever September commercial auction catalogue, demonstrating that the market continues to defy expectations during the Covid-19 period. Since March 2020, we have raised over £174m at four commercial auctions during lockdown, highlighting the confidence that both vendors and buyers are showing in the online auction format and their appetite to invest.
The September catalogue consists of 138 lots and offers a wide range of opportunities across a number of sectors, with 21 lots priced at over £1m and the highest – lot 32 in Haslemere – priced at £4.5m+.
George Walker, partner and auctioneer, said: “We have been very fortunate to have seen little let up in our sales throughout lockdown as the market adjusts to the new normal. Unlike many sectors, commercial property remains attractive to investors looking for secure, long-term income as well as added-value development or mixed-use opportunities.
“As we continue to face an unprecedented economic climate and a continuously evolving market, the final quarter of the year will be as interesting as the rest of it. We have attracted many new private investors as the market has responded well to our online offering and we anticipate a busy and competitive auction market for the remainder of the year.”
The catalogue offers several long-term development opportunities including lot 52, a Barclays Bank with offices above in Streatham, London (guided at £3m), and lot 30, an entire parade of seven shops and maisonettes in Orpington, Kent (guided at £3-3.25m).
