Martin has been the valuer to several large residential property funds and has regularly undertaken valuations of development sites and ground rent portfolios. He advised Annington Homes between 1996 and 2020, providing valuations for financial reporting and fund raising.

Martin has lectured on residential valuation matters and had a Paper published in the Journal of Property Valuation & Investment on the valuation of Assured Tenancies. He has also given expert Valuation evidence in the High Court, the Leasehold Tribunal and at the Lands Tribunal.

Martin was invited to join the RICS Valuation Skills Panel in 1991 and later, the Appraisal and Valuation Standards Board. He served as a member and chairman for a total of 12 years and has also served as a member of the RICS Housing Policy Panel.

Martin joined Allsop in 1985, becoming an equity partner in 1989. He became a Consultant in 2019.
