Being a graduate at Allsop
Graduate Rotation scheme
We operate a two-year graduate rotation scheme where you will be given every possible opportunity and resource to help you pass your APC. The graduate training scheme includes seats in both the agency and professional disciplines. We encourage all our graduates to participate in a practical and active way in the day-to-day workings of the department and you will be given individual responsibility from the start. As a graduate surveyor at Allsop, your experience will give you the opportunity to learn about all aspects of surveying and the practical skills needed to become a surveyor.
You will rotate through 4 different teams, both residential and commercial to include Commerical Valuations or Residential Valuations and three of the following: Commercial Auctions/Residential Auctions, Commercial Investment/Residential Investment/City/West End Investment, West End Agency/City Agency, Insolvency, Business Rates, Lease Consultancy and Development Consultancy.
Graduate Training Scheme
As well as learning on the job, Allsop has a comprehensive graduate training scheme which is an integral part of our strategy to develop excellent surveyors. It is organised and run by one of our existing graduates and overseen by a partner. You will attend various courses, lectures and workshops covering all areas of surveying and the marketplace, and seminars on the various APC competencies. Some of these will be given in-house by partners and members of staff and others by the RICS, clients or outside consultants.
Each graduate is allocated an APC Counsellor and Supervisor (some of whom are APC Assesors) who will guide you through your 2 years of training and prepare you for your final APC assessment.
Continued Professional Development (CPD)
Allsop arrange a number of CPD lectures over the course of the year open to the whole firm.
The vast majority of our graduates who qualify go onto enjoy long-term careers with us. It is in our interest as much as yours that our investment in you does not stop once you have passed your APC. We will continue to help you develop and achieve your goals and aspirations, by further training and ensuring that your talents are being fully utilised. As a firm we need to constantly develop our people and our skills to ensure that we continue to provide a first class service to our clients.
All surveyors take part in Continuing Professional Development and every member of staff receives annual appraisals which enable individuals to identify what areas to focus on going forward.

For our September 2018 intake you will need to submit your CV and covering letter by Thursday 30th November 2017. You will receive an automated response to confirm receipt. We will contact you before Christmas to inform you as to whether we would like to invite you to attend a first interview with us.
This interview, which will take place in January will typically consist of a meeting with up to three Allsop partners. You will have the chance to meet some of our existing graduates and other members of the firm.
If you are shortlisted to attend a second interview, you will be asked to make a short presentation on a given topic to three of the partners.
We believe it is important that all members of staff enjoy their life and their work. We have a number of staff events for the whole firm throughout the year including quiz nights, bowling nights, a rooftop summer party and various sporting events which are always well attended.
Our graduates also organize their own additional events which have included weekends away to Henley, Brighton and Leeds plus a large variety of other social activities such as bowling and karaoke nights.
A number of sports are played by the firm including rugby, cricket, squash and football. We also organise an annual cycling trip which in previous years has included cycles to Paris and Amsterdam involving graduates, partners and clients.
