A jubilant Allsop City team stepped on stage amidst a cheering audience of peers to collect the coveted “Deal of the Year” award alongside Resolution property last night at Grosvenor House.

Allsop and Resolution Property beat a shortlist of eight strong contenders to win the accolade for the £280m (4% NIY) sale of The Alphabeta Building – one of London’s most innovative office spaces.

 

 

 

The shortlist included:

  • Oxford Properties – Blue Fin Building
  • AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets, Lipton Rogers Developments and JLL – 22 Bishopsgate
  • Minerva – Walbrook Building

  • M&G Investments – Fruit & Wool Exchange
  • Great Portland Estates – Facebook

The Alphabeta deal defied the then-thinking about City-and-Shoreditch-type occupiers, leaving a legacy that blurs the boundaries between the City and Shoreditch and their occupier types.

The ground breaking vision for the building changed its orientation, space and appearance, combined with creative place-making, so that it appealed to companies in Shoreditch with growth potential.

Such was the impact of the deal that the demand for space in Alphabeta, ensured it was fully let prior to completion. It continues to resonate with occupiers, with a growing waiting list for available space.

The “Deal of the Year” award is one of the most hotly contested and considered by investment agents to be the award to win in the property industry.

Well done to Howard Kauffman and the City Investment team for all the work involved in this deal and to James Neville and the City Leasing team to ensure it was fully let prior to completion.
